What Are You Reading, is where we gather to share what we have read this past week and what we plan to read this week. It is a great way to network with other bloggers, see some wonderful blogs, and put new titles on your reading list. I started out the week finishing Summer in Paris by Michele Ashamn Bell. I liked the story a lot, but felt some of the characters were very stereotypical.
Next, I finished Cate of the Lost Colony by Lisa Klein. I loved this story. Anything set in Elizabethan England catches my attention, but it's also set in the early colonies. Highly recommend!
I finished Noah's Castle by John Rowe Townsend next. Very interesting book even thought it's a tad outdated. The ideas presented are real enough and really make you think. It's the characters and how they act towards each other that is outdated (the original was published in 1975). But, I still liked it!
I've been reading The Fiery Cross by Diana Gabaldon off and on throughout the week and weekend. I'm about half way through at this point. This one seems to be slower going that the previous 4, but I still really love it. I'm hoping to maybe finish it before the week is out, who knows though.
I'm going to start Pretty Little Liars by Sara Shepard tonight. I've been debating whether to watch the series first or read at least the 1st book. I've decided to going with reading it first. I also plan on reading Infinite Days by Rebecca Maizel.
Your week sounds delightful and I have added some to my TBR list. Enjoy reading this week. My Monday: http://www.rundpinne.com/2010/07/its-monday-what-are-you-reading-3.html

Sounds like you've had a good week of reading :)
ReplyDeleteI agree with Sherrie, the cover for Noah's Castle looks great!
Good choices, as to Pretty Little Liars my daughter says you should read the book first. :)

Cate of The Lost Colony looks really good. I look forward to hearing more about it.
ReplyDeleteI received Noahs Castle this week too and I cant wait to read it - it looks good and I am curious as to why this book would make a come back after all these years.
ReplyDeleteHave a super week :)
Looks like you have quite a busy week ahead of you. I am debating about whether or not to get the first Outlander book.....
ReplyDeletePLL is amazing. I read the books first, and there are some things you pick up from having read the books, as opposed to watching the series first up. Hope you enjoy it! It's addictive.
