Description: Bree Tanner can barely remember life before she had uncannily powerful senses, superhuman reflexes and unstoppable physical strength. Life before she had a relentless thirst for blood... life before she became a vampire. All Bree knows is that living with her fellow newborns has few certainties and even fewer rules: watch your back, don't draw attention to yourself and, above all, make it home by sunrise or die. What she doesn't know: her time as an immortal is quickly running out. Then Bree finds an unexpected friend in Diego, a newborn just as curious as Bree about their mysterious creator, whom they know only as "her". As they come to realize that the newborns are pawns in a game larger than anything they could have imagined, Bree and Diego must choose sides and decide whom to trus. But when everything you know about vampires is based on a lie, how do you find the truth?
I Give This ...
While, I don't think this book is anything fantastic, I did find it interesting. It will do until Stephenie Meyer decided to release Midnight Sun. It was interesting to hear a view point from a newborn vampire. I wondered how much of what Riley told the newborns he actually believed. I also enjoyed the romance aspect. I liked seeing the beginning stages of a vampire bonding. I felt sorry for Bree in the end. She was only there for one reason. I wonder if she would have stayed with Cullens or went and found Fred is she had been given the chance to live.
I think I found learning about Jane the most intersting in this book. From Bella's viewpoint, you don't get a true sense of how much Jane despises her. I wondered in the end if Jane destroyed Bree just get back at the Cullen's. She didn't get the ending she was hoping for and struck out in the only way she knew how.
I just finished Breaking Dawn earlier this week. Even though you didn't think it was great, I will still probably check this one out!
ReplyDeleteI think it's totally worth reading if your a big Twilight fan! It's why I read it. And I always like reading a story for a different characters view point.
