Waiting On Wednesday - Audition by Stasia Ward Kehoe

"Waiting On" Wednesday is a weekly event, hosted at Breaking The Spine, that spotlights upcoming releases that we're eagerly anticipating.

This week's pre-publication "can't-wait-to-read" selection is:

AuditionTitle: Audition
Author: Stasia Ward Kehoe

When high school junior Sara wins a coveted scholarship to study ballet, she must sacrifice everything for her new life as a professional dancer-in-training. Living in a strange city with a host family, she's deeply lonely-until she falls into the arms of Remington, a choreographer in his early twenties. At first, she loves being Rem's muse, but as she discovers a surprising passion for writing, she begins to question whether she's chosen the right path. Is Rem using her, or is it the other way around? And is dancing still her dream, or does she need something more? This debut novel in verse is as intense and romantic as it is eloquent.

I really am intrigued by the idea of dance mixed with romance.  Plus, I like verse novels and am interested in reading more in this style!

  1. I've never read a novel written in verses. I'm looking forward to this being my first. Great pick!

  2. This was my WoW a couple of weeks ago!!! I seriously can't wait for it to come out! I'm obsessed with anything with dancing or singing (even though I'm awful at both), so this book sounds awesome. Great pick :)

  3. I just read my first verse novel, a middle grade historical fiction book, and thought it was very well done. This book sounds intriguing--entirely different topic but I'm curious to try more verse novels.
