Book Blogger Hop and Follow My Blog
Do you judge a book by it's cover?
Guilty! It's usually what first captures my interest. It's either that or the title. After that I read the blurb. Unless, it's a favorite author. Then it's doesn't matter what's on the cover. I'll read it!
Me, too. I have a tendency not to read the blurb unless the cover strikes me.
ReplyDeleteI find I use the covers as a way of picking books more with e-books than I ever did in a bookshop, guess there are just so many it's a quick filter online.
ReplyDeleteYou've summed up my feelings on book covers almost exactly. A pretty cover will make me read the blurb or review and a favorite author can have a paper lunch sack for a cover and I'll read it!

I completely agree with you about the covers! That and the title captures my interest and then the blurb makes me decide. And authors I already like can definitely get away with bad covers! :)
ReplyDeleteGreat blog--I'm a new follower!
My FF can be found here!
I'm horrible about browsing without a list and looking at pretty covers! I'm a new follower! My FF is at Coffee Table Reviews
ReplyDeleteI think we can all agree that even the most beautiful book cover can't sell a book if the writing's not there. Book cover art may, at best, help steer me in the book's direction (especially if I'm in a book store) but it's not going to hypnotize me into buying it right then and there.
ReplyDeleteI expound on all the marketing qualities of a good book. Just follow me back to my book blog - http://www.howardsherman.net
