It's Monday! What Are You Reading?

What Are You Reading, is where we gather to share what we have read this past week and what we plan to read this week.  It is a great way to network with other bloggers, see some wonderful blogs, and put new titles on your reading list.  Click on the picture to be taken to Sheila at One Person's Journey Through A World of Books!

I've had a fantastic week in reading.  My first book was ok, but I know exactly who I would recommend it to, and the other three were 4 butterflies and really enjoyable. Although I have to admit, I haven't been wowed lately.  I want a 5 butterfly book.  The last one I read was The Summer of Skinny Dipping back in May.  Anybody have any recommendations?

My first book of the week was A Living Nightmare by Darren Shan.  I liked it but felt the story was very simple.  I think pre-teen boys would love this storyline.  It kinds of reminds me of those Goosebumps books but for a little older age range.

My next book was Paranormalcy by Kiersten White.  I had high hopes for this book.  It has a great cover, the blurb sounded interesting and the author has the same name as my daughter (same spelling too!).  Evie was a completely different heroine and little hard for me to swallow at first, but I grew to love her.  And the storyline was great!

My next book was Infinite Days by Rebecca Maizel (finally)!  I really loved this one as well.  It was a completely different twist on vampires.  I loved watching Lena go from ruthless vampire to a very smart and fun teenager.

My last  book was Rampant  by Diana Peterfreund.  I was a little hesitant on the killer unicorn storyline (reminds of a really bad horror film).  But, it actually worked really well.  It was believable and I liked that characters (for the most part).  I can't wait to read the sequel.

I also read Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone by J.K. Rowling.  I've been wanting to restart this series for awhile so I can have it read by the opening of the 1st part of the last book.  This weekend seemed perfect since I finished my intended books for the week.

I'm currently reading Dark Flame by Alyson Noel.  I'm hoping this book is better than the last.  I would seriously hate to give up on a series.  I also plan to read Hunger by Jackie Kessler, Songs for a Teenage Nomad by Kim Culbertson, and If I Stay  by Gayle Forman.

  2. I haven't had a 'wow' book that really blew me away in a while either. I have high hopes for Mockingjay though!
