It's Monday! What Are You Reading?

It’s Monday!  What Are You Reading, is where we gather to share what we have read this past week and what we plan to read this week.  It is a great way to network with other bloggers, see some wonderful blogs, and put new titles on your reading list.  Click on the picture to be taken to Sheila at One Person's Journey Through A World of Books!
I think I had short/fast reads this week.  Plus, a night of babysitting my cousins (I almost always finish a book when I do this) to help me out.  I read 4 books and finished 1 that I had already started before the week began.

I didn't have much left of Siren by Tricia Rayburn when the week began.  I really enjoyed this book.  It had a lot of different elements that I thought worked well together!  Plus, it was something different than werewolves and vampires, but still had that supernatural element to it.

Next I choose a book I needed to review.  Revenge Served Cold by Jackie Fullerton would be a cozy mystery, which I don't read a lot of (I tend to read more thriller/mysteries).  I liked the book, but found it very predictable.

I needed to read Burned by P.C. & Kristin Cast next (due back to the library soon).  I was a little disappointed in this latest installment in the House of Night Series.  The dialogue can be horrible in these books, and I felt it was particularly bad in this novel.  The action was good, just not enough!

I received a tour book The Ghost and the Goth by Stacey Kade, which I read next.  I loved this one!  It was lighthearted but had enough seriousness to it that was just a fun read.  I liked the added romance to it as well!  I would like to see a sequel.

I sat down and read The Body Finder by Kimberly Derting all at once.  I picked a fantastic book to do this with.  It reminded me of a lot of adult thriller books I read but geared toward teens.  It had fear, romance, murder, and mystery, but all toned way down.  I thought it worked well!

I'm currently finishing up The Percy Jackson series with The Last Olympian by Rick Riordan.  I've loved this series so far, but all good things must come to an end.  I also plan on reading Never Let You Go by Erin Healy, and Prophecy of the Sisters by Michelle Zink.

  2. Some interesting books there. I've not yet read any of P.C. Cast's books, I should get around to that.

  3. Burned is on my list right now, but I've got so many to read it may not make it this week.

Have a fantastic reading week and if you get a chance, stop by: Monday Reading's at There's A Book

  4. I am glad to hear that you liked Siren. I've had that on my TBR list and can't wait to read it. I just got The Ghost and the Goth and I am looking forward to reading it when I get a break from the library books. I loved The Body Finder. I hope there will be more YA books like The Body Finder and Siren. I remember how much I loved suspense when I was a teen. I read a lot of Christopher Pike's YA paranormal suspense back then.

The Percy Jackson books are a treat. If you get a chance you should also give The Red Pyramid a try. I thought it was pretty good also. Have a great week!
